Affiliate Disclosure
How Boarding Gate earns money, and why it never changes what we recommend.
Last updated: October 26, 2026
The short version
Some links on boardinggate.io are affiliate links. If you click one and then buy something or make a booking, we may earn a commission from that company. You pay the same price, and sometimes less when a partner offers our readers a discount. Commissions help keep our guides and all of our tools free to use, with no signup.
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a normal link that contains a tracking code. It tells the company that you arrived from boardinggate.io, so they can credit us if you buy within their tracking window. We never see your name, card details or what you bought; partners send us only aggregated sales and commission reports.
How we label them
- Any page that contains affiliate links shows a short disclosure near the top, before the first link.
- Recommendation boxes and buttons that lead to a partner are marked as partner or affiliate links.
- Affiliate links carry the
rel="sponsored"attribute, as Google requires. - Links to government portals, embassies, airlines and other official sources are never affiliate links.
What commissions do not change
Our editorial and tool decisions are made first and the money comes second:
- We recommend products and services because they suit the situation we are writing about, not because of the commission rate. Where a free or official option exists, such as applying for a visa directly on a government portal, we point you there first.
- Tool results (visa checks, fee calculators, planners) are never altered to favour a partner.
- Partners cannot buy a positive review, a higher ranking in a list or the removal of criticism.
- If a partner product gets worse, we update or remove the recommendation, even if it earns us money.
The kinds of partners we work with
Depending on the guide, we may link to travel insurance providers, eSIM and mobile data services, hotel and accommodation booking sites, tours and activities, airport transfers, luggage storage, travel gear (including through Amazon) and money-transfer or travel card providers. Each program has its own terms, and a purchase you make is a contract between you and that company, not boardinggate.io.
Amazon Associates
As an Amazon Associate, Boarding Gate earns from qualifying purchases. Links to Amazon on our guides and tools are affiliate links. We show product names and descriptions only, never Amazon prices, because prices change; the price you see on Amazon is the one that applies.
Sponsored content
We do not currently publish paid or sponsored articles. If we ever do, the article will be labelled as sponsored at the top of the page.
