Cookie Policy

The fine print, kept as readable as we can make it.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember preferences, measure usage, and deliver relevant advertising. Some are set by us (first-party); others are set by services we use (third-party).

Cookies we use

boardinggate.io uses three categories of cookies:

Essential cookies

Required for the site to function correctly. These include caching cookies set by our hosting platform (LiteSpeed) that speed up page loads and reduce server strain. These cannot be disabled without breaking core site functionality.

Analytics cookies

We use analytics to understand which guides and tools are most useful, how visitors find the site, and where content needs improvement. Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify you personally. We use this data solely to improve the site.

Advertising cookies

To keep boardinggate.io free, we display ads served by third-party advertising networks, including Google AdSense. These cookies allow ad networks to:

  • Show ads relevant to your interests based on your browsing activity across websites.
  • Limit the number of times you see the same ad.
  • Measure ad performance (impressions, clicks).

You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time:

Affiliate partner cookies

Some links on boardinggate.io are affiliate links. If you click one, the partner’s website or its affiliate network may set its own cookie to record that you came from us, so it can credit a purchase or booking. These cookies are set on the partner’s site, not by boardinggate.io, and are governed by that partner’s cookie policy. They do not change the price you pay. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

Our tools do not use cookies

The interactive tools on boardinggate.io (Schengen Calculator, Visa Checker, Packing List Generator, and others) do not set cookies or store your inputs. Everything you enter is processed in your browser and discarded when you leave the page.

Managing cookies

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. Here is how in common browsers:

  • Chrome — Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data.
  • Firefox — Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data.
  • Safari — Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data.
  • Edge — Settings > Cookies and site permissions.

Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the site from working correctly. Blocking advertising cookies does not affect site functionality — you will still see ads, but they will be generic rather than personalized.

Consent

Where required by law (including under the EU ePrivacy Directive and GDPR), we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing cookies in your browser or using the opt-out links above.

Changes

If we add new cookies or tracking technologies, we will update this page. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision.
